Walked by this place a few times with a friend I’m traveling with and liked the vibe from the exterior; decided to give it a go. Other tables had paper menus, but we were only given the option of using the electronic menus by scanning the QR code. The navigation on the menu site is atrocious and couldn’t figure out the drink options. My friend found one he liked, but the server tried to talk him out of it. I said I needed another minute to look, and the server stood there waiting - very uncomfortable. Apparently he didn’t like that I needed more time, because he called over another server, who proceeded to try and sell me on some other drink. I relented because I was just tired of the process by that point. Both of us were turned off by the experience so far, so we decided to just have the drinks and get food somewhere else. The server did not like that at all. After our drinks were delivered to the table, we were left alone with no service the rest of our time there. Took about 20 or 30 minutes just to get the check because our server wouldn’t even look in our direction - we had to ask someone else. The drinks that we did get were not even good. My drink just tasted like passion fruit juice… but had coriander seeds in it for some reason?
Best part of the experience was the San Pellegrino after walking around the city for a while.

Read moreWe (we were 2) visited Cantina La 20 Angel late afternoon on a Thr. We sat at they bar. The bar and the restaurant were in sum nearly empty. There seemed to be one bartender tending to a lot of tasks. Other employees nearby did not seem to be busy. I say this bc while the bartender was kind, he lacked in attention because I believe he was doing too many other things rather than prioritizing attention to customers as his top priority. We saw him washing dishes, stocking beer and alcohol, inventorying, etc. Others again nearby did not seem busy. But recieving a menu upon request, getting our drink order and also simply getting our bill seemed to take a long time, particularly for a place not at all busy. We had Old Fashions. The drink was well made, however, particularly give the high price, it was a little skimped on, quantity wise. They did bring by 3 complimentary tostadas with salsa and a small bowl of refried beans. We ordered Ribeye Tacos. Again, fairly expensive and it was solely a fried tortilla and a relatively thin slice of Ribeye. It was tastey but again, I think the restaurant skimped on giving a fair portion of Ribeye. In sum the restaurant was " ok" but im not...
Read moreI was so excited to finally try this place out. Unfortunately, the poor quality service at the bar warrants a 2-star review. The young lady (I believe her name was Jess) could care less about her job. I was expecting to get better service at a place that most people consider a classy establishment. However, she left much to be desired. When the hostess sat me down at the bar, the bartender ignored me a few times until finally coming around. If it was a busy night, I would get it, but the bar was empty and the rest of the restaurant was only a quarter full. Plus, there was another bartender helping her out. I asked her for the drink menu since several people raved about their mixology. She practically rolled her eyes and brought it over to me with a long face. The drink was solid. I had to get her attention to order food. I ordered the mini sopes with bone marrow. I specifically told her for the salsa on the side. Unfortunately, she was either distracted or forgot to mention it to the cook. She was on her phone a few times throughout the night, which was disappointing considering the type of restaurant/bar it's considered to be. I'll give it another shot, but not a...
